I am a skilled facilitator who works with varying clients from churches to schools, to corporate clients.
As an accredited Time to Think Coach, this methodology benefits all that I do.
Offsite & Away Day Events
I am able to provide bespoke offsite & away day meeting facilitation to suit the needs of your organisation. My goal is to get the very best thinking from each person attending & to get them to share that thinking for the benefit of the group, whilst feeling listened to & empowered.
Facilitating Key Meetings & Teams
I facilitate meetings in-house to take the pressure off the Chair. I run such meetings as a Thinking Environment®, to get the very best thinking from all those present, in the most efficient & affirming way.
Training in Transforming Meetings™
This training leaves behind skill on the table. Everyone wants the best possible results from meetings & the quality of decisions & actions of the group will depend on the quality of the thinking they do together first.
Transforming Meetings™
A one day programme for teams to learn about & apply the behaviours that have been found to most enhance people’s thinking. The programme can also be run over two half days.
Bespoke Training Courses
I write & deliver bespoke training courses as requested by schools, churches & organisations.
More About the Thinking Environment®
Nancy Kline, creator or the Thinking Environment first put into words the fundamental observation that “the quality of everything we do, depends on the quality of the thinking we do first”.
Through years of experience & observation, Nancy found that what influences a person’s ability to think well for themselves is the way they are being treated by the people they are with at the time, not their seniority, intellect or experience. The behaviour of the listener or listeners is critical. 10 Components are key.
My Approach
As a facilitator, I embody the 10 Components of the Thinking Environment.
I partner with teams from a position of equality, listening to people & creating the conditions for them to think really well for themselves, enabling a clarity of thought which paves the way for decisive action and transformational results.
What people say:
“Miranda came to our church and led three sessions. Firstly, a coaching session for me as minister, secondly a PCC training day and thirdly an actual PCC meeting. Miranda’s expertise mixed with good humour and gentleness has transformed my leadership and the meeting as a whole. We have had feedback from members who feel more heard and valued because of the techniques Miranda encouraged us in. Our meetings are more fruitful, personable and take less time than before. We are very thankful for her time”. Charles Lamont, Minister, St Andrew’s, Wimbledon
“Our session was well organised, with clear objectives & an agenda which was adhered to both in terms of content & timing. Miranda creates a positive atmosphere which encourages people to open up & speak frankly. She is adept at keeping things moving without intruding on what people want to say. She can bring a discussion back on track with a light touch when people go off piste. In a large, sometimes vociferous, group she is in charge but not in the way”. Eldon Sandys, Occasional Preacher
“Our church team away day was a huge success, not least because of the facilitation & leadership from Miranda Brockman. Individuals were encouraged to share their thoughts. Ideas were valued with all team members feeling that they had something to contribute. People were given space to share their perspective without interruption. The importance of valuing & appreciating each other was paramount & this was one of the aspects that allowed for such a fruitful & edifying day. I would thoroughly recommend Miranda to lead any team event”. Reverend Mark Potter
